Molly's and Emily's new collection. Thoughts?

I love brainstorming about what might come out for Molly and Emily in the fall. So, in an earlier thread we talked about their big item, and we all liked different things.

I wanted to talk about what else will come out with their release! S/N and F/E both got new spring dresses. Should we assume thats part of the collection? Also, winter coats might be in there.

Will Emily get a doll? What else can we expect? What would you love to have in the collection?

They're going to have a tough time with Emily's collection. Almost everything she has is something identical to something Molly has, and is already in Molly's collection.
I don't think they'll make another bed, but they may change the wording of Molly's to something that includes the option of getting it for Emily since she "slept in one just like Molly's!" Or something. Encourage getting 2, lol.

She'll need the exact same birthday dress, and Yank should be nearly identical, perhaps slightly different coloring, and a blue color.

I hope Emily and Molly get new coats. As people have posted here, that raincoat is much too thin to be Molly's winter coat. I'd love to see them both get peacoats, maybe one in navy and one in charcoal. I'd get both. AG has gone far too long without a peacoat.

Perhaps some blue PJs that are similar to Molly's in style, but with polka dots instead of stripes, like the robe she has in the Molly book.

She needs the princess outfit (and while we're at it, Molly does, too), and perhaps another 2-3 outfits. None of them should be at all fancy, unless there's some explanation for it in her book.

A doll would be nice, perhaps, as someone posted in another thread, a Ragedy Ann doll. Or some other pillow plushie type doll.

I think whatever book that comes out with Emily will have to advance her story beyond the point where she first comes to stay with Molly. The title is apparently "Brave Emily", which makes me wonder if one or both of her parents might die (as happened with Nellie).

I expect there will be a doll and I'm hoping for a princess dress, really two versions, although given clothing rationing, it's hard to imagine how those could come about (maybe some kind person in the story has fabric squirreled away). I'd also love to see a board game and other toys the girls would have played with. Winter coats are a must. Maybe a sled, too?

And, of course, I'm still holding out for that tandem bike. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I just can't imagine AG making the princess outfit, It would be rather similar to Molly's Meet Outfit. I don't think they would create 2 blue skirts for one doll?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I wasn't really thinking of the blue skirt-and-sweater sets. More like the "princess" dresses worn by the princesses themselves. Although I have to admit, I have trouble seeing Molly putting up with a dress like that.

I just have to vote for another little terrier. I'd also like to see new dresses and winter coats! Poor Molly. She must freeze in the winter wearing that silly yellow slicker. She lives in Illinois; it's not like they don't have snow! [img]tongue.gif[/img]
I'd love it if Emily had some books, and the board game idea is great!
I think it would be awesome if Molly got a Girl Scout uniform, and Emily got a whatever-English-GS-was-called-then uniform to match.

Molly wears a real winter coat in Molly's Surprise with that weird hat/scarf thing and mittens. Maybe she'll get a skating hat like Jill's.

Emily has to have a doll. If she didn't bring one from England(and her parents don't send her one) she'll probably get one here in the US, either from her aunt or from the McIntyres.

Maybe she'll have her suitcase. I hope they make her scrapbook of the English princesses.

As for the big item...a new radio? a movie theater(not enclosed but like Felicity's stable)? A stage for Molly to tap dance(after her dad comes back and she gets over her ear infection and cold, of course)? A Camp Gowanigan tent and cot? An open-air airplane like the one her aunt takes her for a ride in?

Cami, you really should work at AG- I LOVE all of your ideas!!

The Molly coat issue always bugged me a bit... as a Chicago resident myself, I can't help but cringe at the idea of wearing a raincoat in January or February!

I bet the birthday dress will be quite cute too. AG did so well with Kit's cute 1930s dresses- I'd think they'd do the same for Emily's of a decade later.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That was the point though- the princesses did dress like normal people! Didn't you read what Emily said [img]biggrin.gif[/img] I'd be much happier with the blue sweater princess outfit than a coronation type dress.
